Month 8 of 180

One tick for every month of your plan. Each month you fund turns orange.

01 / Why by hand

See every pound. Then decide what it’s for.

Most money apps pull in your bank feed and sort it for you, and most of it goes by unseen. Erkos asks you to log each entry yourself. It takes seconds, and it’s the point.

01

Complete visibility

Nothing arrives unseen. Every pound you spend passes through your hands once, so you know exactly where it went, not a rough idea from a feed you skim.

02

Considered spending

Hold to commit adds a moment’s pause before each entry. Over weeks it becomes a habit: you spend on purpose, and you watch your long-term goal move month by month on the horizon.

03

A reserve for the unexpected

Spare cash builds a reserve against a target you set. When the boiler breaks or the car fails its MOT, the reserve absorbs it and the plan carries on.

02 / The statement

Every month reads like a set of accounts.

Not a budget with red and green bars. The statement a business owner reads: what came in, what it cost to run, cash from operations, and what was put to work.

03 / The language

Business terms for your own money.

Erkos uses the words a business uses for its accounts. Each has a plain meaning. Tap one to see it; the app explains them all as you set up.

Operating income

The money you earn each month, like your salary. Moving money between your own accounts doesn’t count.

Operating costs

Everything you spend in a month: the essentials, like rent and bills, plus the extras you choose.

Cash from operations

What’s left of your income once the month’s spending is paid. Above zero means you lived within it.

Financing

Money you borrow or pay back, like loan repayments, plus one-off sums such as a benefit payment.

Capital deployed

Money you put into your investments. It’s saving for your future, so it never counts as spending.

Free cash flow

What’s left after loans and investing. A surplus tops up your reserve; a shortfall comes out of it.

Reserve

Your safety net: spare cash kept aside for a bad month, measured against a target you choose.

Position

What your investments are worth right now. You update the figure once a month, which takes seconds.

Horizon

How many years you’re planning for, from 5 to 25. Every month you invest counts towards it.

04 / How it works

Three steps, every month.

01

Log it

Pick a category, type the amount, then hold to commit. Every entry gets a receipt, and one tap undoes it.

02

Read it

Overview, Flow, Capital and Ledger. See where every pound went, month by month and across the year.

03

Fund it

Keep your reserve at its target, pick a horizon of 5 to 25 years, and fund it one month at a time.

05 / The habit

Discipline, one entry at a time.

Financial discipline isn’t a budget you set once and forget. It’s a habit: noticing each pound, pausing before it goes, and paying your future first. Erkos is built to make that habit easy to keep, and satisfying to see.

01

Every day: log it

Each entry takes seconds, and the pause before you commit makes you notice where the money goes.

02

Every month: close the books

Update your balances, read your statement, and see whether the month paid for itself.

03

Every year: see it add up

Funded months stack up on your horizon. A missed month shows, and so does getting back on track.

06 / Two rules

The ideas the whole app is built on.

01

Capital deployed is never spending.

Money you move into your investments is shown apart, in orange. Saving never looks like a bad month.

02

Running costs and discretionary stay apart.

The essentials that keep you going, and what you chose to spend. When the month moves, you can see which one moved it.

07 / Private by design

Your data never touches our servers.

There are none. Your figures live on your devices and sync through your own iCloud, encrypted. No account, no bank login, no tracking. Export to CSV or JSON whenever you like.

Data not collected. That’s the label Erkos will carry on the App Store, because nothing you log ever reaches us.
